Q. How do I access academic articles?

It is confusing, no question. I'll try to explain...

If you live in California you can get a library card for any public library anywhere in the state. Go to any public library in Marin and get a card. They'll ask for a photo ID (driver's license or student ID card) and proof of your residence (bill, rental agreement, etc.).

• If you have proof of living in Marin you have access to books and to all the digital products, such as ebooks and databases.
• If you do not have proof of a Marin address, you can check out books, but will have no remote access to digital products. You can, though, gain access if you are inside a library. The public libraries do have databases for research but are limited in terms of scope, compared to Dominican or College of Marin.

Now for Dominican University's library...you're MARINet public library card gives you access to check out books at Dominican and College of Marin. You will not be able to have remote access to their databases, but you can go into their libraries and use their public computer stations to gain access. Once you have access, you can save articles to a flash drive or email them to yourself.
