Q. How do I search for information on a private Company?

Private companies are difficult to research in that they don't have to disclose their financials, file reports with the SEC, or submit an annual report to anyone. you might try scouring newspaper stories about the company or looking at other articles (if any have been written).

 

Try the following databases:

• ABI/Inform - Business articles and company reports
• Business Source Complete -  Business articles and company reports
• Nexis Uni - Newspaper and blog stories, company reports

 

Try scouring their website. Use the Google Advanced Search by using your keywords and then using the company's website URL in the Site or Domain field; this will only search the company's website for your keywords. Look and see if the company has a separate website for investors, there may be more information there.
